Homelessness is coming to be the destiny of the world. Hence it is necessary to think that destiny in term of the history of Being. What Marx recognized in an essential and significant sense, though derived from Hegel, as the estrangement of man has its roots in the homelessness of modern man. This homelessness is specifically evoked from the destiny of Being in the form of metaphysics, and through metaphysics is simultaneously entrenched and covered up as such. Because Marx by experiencing estrangement attains an essential dimension of history, the Marxist view of history is superior to that of other historical accounts. But since neither Husserl nor – so far as I have seen till now – Sartre recognizes the essential importance of the historical in Being, neither phenomenology nor existentialism enters that dimension within which a productive dialogue with Marxism first becomes possible.
Frank A.Capuzzi, Letter on Humanism

Homelessness is becoming the fate of the world. For that reason, it is necessary to think about that which has come down ontohistorically. The roots of what Marx had learned from Hegel to recognize in an essential and meaningful sense as man’s alienation go back to the homelessness of modern man. This is evoked, and in fact by what has come down of be[-ing] in the form of metaphysics, through which consolidated and by which it is at the same time concealed as homelessness. Because Marx enters into an essential dimension of history as he discovers this alienation, for that reason the Marxist view of history is superior to other history. But because neither Husserl nor (so far) Sartre, as far as I can tell, recognize the essentiality of what is historical about be[-ing], for that reason neither phenomenology nor Existentialism enter into that very dimension within which a productive discussion with Marxism would for the first time become possible.
Miles Groth, Letter on “Humanism”
